What you do with your hair and how long you spend on your daily care routine is partly a matter of taste, but mostly a question of what nature gave you to work with.
1. Just washed and flat as a pancake:
Often, hair just droops after you wash it. The care ingredients in shampoos, conditioners and treatments make every styling process more difficult. Soft, straight hair obeys the law of gravity, loses whatever volume the hairdryer just gave it, and wilts. Style-wise, buns or pigtails are the only solution.
2. Hair spray or lacquer – only your hair determines the finish you get
You worked hard with round brushes held above your head. You strained your elbow, broke into a sweat and set your dryer to ‘cold’. You used half a can of spray or lacquer at exactly the right distance from your hair – and still your hair looks like spaghetti before the evening gets into gear. Forget it!
3. Thick or thin – and always straight
Straight hair comes in thick and sparse, fine and dense, or worst of all fine and sparse. Whatever weapons you choose, there’s no guarantee of success. Used properly, a [curling tong]((!carrera_537) or hair straightener might produce a curl or two – but it’s only a matter of time before the smooth hair structure gets the upper hand.
4. Good planning is half the battle
Many women are really creative when it comes to getting the curls they long for. One tried-and-tested method is Overnight Beach Waves. Either plait your damp hair, or twist it into individual strands. This works even with really straight hair, although sleeping may not be too comfortable if the strands press against your scalp. But then, beauty always comes at a price. If you’re in a hurry, try using a hairdryer with a diffuser attachment instead of drying your hair overnight.
5. Whorls and cowlicks everywhere
Lots of people were born with whorls (also known as ‘stylist’s nightmare’) in their hair. If you have curls, whorls are almost invisible because they simply blend in. But with smooth hair whorls can make your scalp show through, so it’s important to pay them special attention during your hair care routine. You can backcomb, you can use a dryer, but in the end you’ll still have to compromise on hairstyle choices because whorls have a mind of their own. You can’t get rid of them – but there are a few tools that can help you do battle as part of your daily hair care routine. Find the weapon of your choice here: www.carrera.de
