Frittata – Italian omelette with fresh vegetables

Frittata is the delicious Italian omelette you don’t have to watch all the time in the pan or stir constantly. This tasty dish practically cooks itself – almost anyone can do it.

Okay, it’s not 100 percent self-cooking because that’s what our CARRERA Blender №655 with steamer mode is for. In minutes, this powerful tool transforms a handful of ingredients into a low-carb breakfast that’s packed with protein, vitamins, and power for your day.

Ingredients for 1–2 persons

    • 4 eggs
    • 2 tbsp ricotta cheese
    • Any of the following if liked:
    • Avocado
    • Paprika
    • Mushrooms
    • 1 tbsp coarsely grated parmesan cheese
    • 2 tbsp olive oil

    • 1 pinch salt
    • 1 pinch pepper

Eggs and cheese with whatever you please

Step 1
All you need are four eggs, two tablespoons of ricotta cheese, half an avocado and half a paprika or mushroom. To season, prepare some coarsely grated parmesan cheese and keep some olive oil ready. Plus, of course, salt and pepper.

** Step 2**
Wash the vegetables, then slice or dice them. Feel free to experiment – for example by adding tomatoes and onions.

** Step 3**
Crack the eggs and put them straight into the Carrera Blender, together with the ricotta. Blend in Manual or Pulse mode until the mixture is well aerated. That will make your Frittata nice and light.

** Step 4**
Pour the mixture into a glass jar and use the Self Cleaning mode to clean the blender. Next, pour in 500 ml of water and insert the steamer tray. Place the glass jar in the insert and run Steamer mode for 25 minutes.

** Step 5**
Add the first half of the vegetables after around 5 minutes, the second half around ten minutes later. To do this, open the lid, drop the vegetables in and close the lid again.

** Step 6**
Use a towel to remove the glass jar from the insert. Run a knife around the edge to free the Frittata. Place the Frittata on a chopping board and serve it in slices, garnished with parmesan cheese and a little salt and pepper.

To add fresh herbs, simply roll the finished Frittata over your freshly chopped herbs. You can use watercress, chives or anything else that takes your fancy.

Buon appetito!
